OUR TREES

Take a look at
OUR NEW TREES

The trees in the picture above are the beautiful Carolina Sapphires which were planted Spring 2017. Many of them are five to twelve feet tall and are available for cutting this year, 2024. There are also Leyland Cypress and Green Giant trees up to 12' tall and over 600 trees from which to choose.

There is an ample supply of Virginia Pines and Cedars 5' - 10' tall. Those trees are priced at YOUR CHOICE for only $67 each. The White pines are 4'- 6' tall, full and fluffy. Those trees are priced at YOUR CHOICE for only $55 each.

It is true that there is a shortage of Fraser Firs which grow in the NC mountains. However, I get my order in early and will be receiving "A+" quality trees. The first load will arrive in November and be ready for sale when we open on Saturday, November 23, 2024.

Due to the shortage of those trees in the mountains, the wholesale price this year again has increased over last years cost. The pricing on my trees will continue to be very competitive.
Trees are priced and tagged relative to specific quality and height.

FRASER FIR

Frasers do not grow in our area because they require the cool weather of the NC mountains. Our "A+" Frasers are shipped in from tree farms near Boone and Sparta, NC. The trees are delivered within two days after they are cut and we try to keep them fresh by standing them up in tree stands to keep them watered. We generally receive tow to three shipments so our trees are always fresh. The strong branches of the Fraser allow for easy decoration and they have a pleasant aroma. Heights of the trees we order are 6' - 14' tall. We can handle special orders for Frasers up to 22' tall.

WHITE PINE

White pines bring the aroma of the north woods. The needles are longer and softer than those of the Virginia pine and have a blue-green color. Unfortunately, White Pines are not available this year.

LEYLAND CYPRESS

Leyland Cypress is new to the Christmas tree family. It has become very popular because it makes a beautiful, long lasting tree and it does not drop needles on the floor. These are newly planted and a few will be available this year form 5-9' tall.

GREEN GIANT ARBOR VITAE

The Green Giant is the newest tree to be used as a Christmas tree. Like the Leyland and Sapphire, it does not drop dead needles. Another appeal is that it has a sweet, almost perfumed aroma. There will be many 5' to 10' tall available for Christmas 2023. We have hundreds more that are growing rapidly and will be more plentiful in the coming years.
VIRGINIA PINE

Virginia pines are the "scotch pines of the south." They stay green longer than any other tree and have stout branches that can hold heavy ornaments. There will be a selection of 4' to 9' trees available for 2023 season.

CAROLINA SAPPHIRE

The Sapphire is another "clean" tree that does not drop dead needles. It also has a very strong, clean, piney aroma. The foliage is a beautiful light blue-green. These trees have been growing very rapidly which means that we will have many 5'-9' tall trees available for cutting Christmas 2023.

TREE CARE

The most important thing in taking care of your tree is to keep it fresh! The best way to do this is to KEEP IT IN WATER. There are many products you can buy to put in the water, but the folks who do the research, tell us that all the tree needs is water. If you don't plan to put your tree up when you get it home, place the butt in a bucket of water in a cool shady location. When you get ready to set it up in the house, give the tree a fresh butt cut (cut one inch off the butt of the trunk), use a stand that contains water and be sure to keep the stand full of water. (We sell a variety of very good tree stands.) The researchers also tell us that a fresh live tree is more fire retardant than artificial trees.

THE ENVIRONMENT

After you take your tree down, it can still be of environmental value. Most cities now have equipment to convert your tree into soil-enriching mulch. You may also contribute it to the lake where you fish. Placed in shallow water, Christmas trees make excellent "hides" where young fish can escape being eaten by larger fish. You may prefer to place your tree in the back yard where song birds can use it to get out of the cold winter wind. If this is your choice, you may want to hang some suet or bird food in the tree as well.

ACCESSORIES

GARLAND / ROPING
Our galand is made of White Pine or Fraser Fir in the mountains of NC. It comes in 25' skeins but you can purchase the exact length you need.

WREATHS
We have a variety of sizes of Fraser Fir and a combination of Fraser Fir, White Pine, and box wood wreaths. They add elegance to any entry door, window, or mantle.

FRASER BUNDLES
One of the best bargains on the farm for fun in decorating has to be the large bundles of Fraser Fir for $10. These are limbs that have been trimmed from the bottom of the Fraser Firs. They are great for making swags, lining your fireplace mantle, attaching to chandeliers or adding to flower arrangements.

TREE STANDS
We have a variety of tree stands from which to choose. These are all high quality stands and very reasonably priced (generally much lower than what you would pay in a retail store).

WATERING ELVES
The watering elves are extended funnels used to keep water in your stand without having to crawl under the tree.

TREE DISPOSAL BAGS
This bag is placed under your tree as you are setting it up. it can serve as your tree skirt or your tree skirt can go on top of the bag. Upon taking your tree down, it's a matter of just pulling the bag up around the tree and taking it outside without a mess. They are great.

FIREWOOD
Seasoned mixed firewood will be for sale in $5 bundles or $35 for a front-loader bucket full (one/third of a face cord).
